    Now with a redesigned engine, rubber mounted in a new stiffer frame, this entry level Harley is pushing back at its Japanese imitators. This new version of an old favourite has a lower seat height to appeal to shorter riders and has a more manageable clutch which should increase its appeal. Better brakes and a stiffer chassis mean that it will excel as a town bike, able to deal with the cut and thrust of large cities while still providing a spirited, enjoyable ride in the country. The updates have certainly not affected this bike's classic appeal and is still a real head turner. If you want pearl paint it's £100 extra.

    This version is a styling exercise on the basic model, but its main adavantage is that it has much larger petrol tank which allows it to be used on longer journeys. Harley claim to have improved the riding position be redesigning the oil tank and battery, to make this bike can now cover long distance with ease. The extra width on the rear tyre, improved fender coverage, plus the smoother engine and general ride, mean this is probaly the better of the two entry modelsThe downside is you lose ground clearance comapred to the standard 883 - longer rear shocks will get it back if you want, Two tone paint is £260 extra, pearl finish is £100 extra, also this model has a stiffer swing arm and rear spindle
